Scientists hunt clues to predict dangerous chemo side effects in brain cancer
NCT ID NCT06546631
Summary
This study aims to understand why some patients with a type of brain tumor called glioma develop severe drops in blood cell counts when taking the chemotherapy drug temozolomide. Researchers will analyze blood, genes, and gut bacteria from about 55 patients to identify factors that predict who is at higher risk for this serious side effect. The goal is to help doctors better manage treatment and potentially prevent these complications in the future.
