New study aims to predict breathing tube removal success
NCT ID NCT07577453
First seen May 14, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026
Summary
This study looks at 150 adults having planned surgery under general anesthesia. Researchers will measure three things before removing the breathing tube: how fast and shallow the patient breathes, muscle strength, and brain activity. The goal is to see if using all three together can better predict who will breathe safely on their own afterward, reducing complications like low oxygen or needing the tube put back in.
