Brain scans could tell doctors when to stop depression meds

NCT ID NCT07328373

Summary

This study aims to find biological signs in the brain and genes that can predict if a person's depression will return after they stop taking antidepressant medication. Researchers will follow 204 people with depression and healthy volunteers, measuring brain activity and taking blood samples over time. The goal is to help doctors decide when it's truly safe for a patient to stop their medication, rather than relying only on how the patient says they feel.
