Blood test could predict Parkinson's surgery success

NCT ID NCT07376278

Summary

This study aims to discover markers in the blood that can predict how well a person with Parkinson's disease will respond to deep brain stimulation (DBS) surgery. Researchers will collect blood samples and leftover surgical tissue from 30 patients undergoing DBS to look for proteins and genetic signals linked to good or poor outcomes. The goal is to help doctors better select patients for this major surgery and understand how it works at a biological level.
