Neck scan may predict dangerous blood pressure drop in High-Risk C-Sections

NCT ID NCT07496788

First seen Apr 11, 2026 · Last updated May 09, 2026 · Updated 3 times

Summary

This study looks at whether a simple neck ultrasound can help predict a sudden drop in blood pressure during C-section in women with preeclampsia (a pregnancy complication involving high blood pressure). About 96 women will have their neck vein measured before receiving spinal anesthesia. The goal is to see if this measurement can identify who is at risk, so doctors can take steps to prevent complications.
