NCT ID NCT05825040
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study is testing whether online therapy programs can help people with moderate to severe anxiety or depression. 320 participants will be randomly assigned to guided online CBT, self-guided CBT, mindfulness, or a waitlist. The goal is to see which approach best improves mental well-being and reduces symptoms.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
online cognitive behavioural therapy and mindfulness-based intervention
What this could lead to
If successful, this could show that online guided therapy is an effective, scalable way to reduce depression and anxiety symptoms.
What could go wrong
This is a relatively small trial testing different online approaches. Results may not apply to everyone, and the benefits may be modest compared to in-person therapy.
