Scientists map the immune system to unlock better treatments for gut diseases and transplant complications
NCT ID NCT03369353
Summary
This study aims to understand how the immune system works in people with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), graft-versus-host disease (GVHD), and other related conditions. Researchers will collect blood and tissue samples from about 1,000 participants, including patients and healthy volunteers, to analyze their immune cells and gut bacteria. The goal is to learn what causes these diseases and how patients respond to treatments like transplants and cellular therapies, which could lead to better diagnostic tests and more personalized care in the future.
