First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study looks at whether a special nutritional drink taken for 7 days before colorectal surgery can change levels of certain amino acids in the blood. These amino acids are important for healing. The study will involve 126 adults scheduled for elective colorectal surgery. Participants will be randomly assigned to receive either the special drink or a standard one, and neither they nor their doctors will know which they received.
