First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 29 times

Summary

This study tests whether helping women with overweight or obesity adopt a healthy lifestyle before and during pregnancy can reduce the risk of their children developing obesity. About 360 women planning pregnancy will either receive a tailored program including a low-calorie diet, exercise, and mentorship, or standard care. The goal is to see if this early intervention leads to healthier body fat levels in newborns and supports healthy weight throughout childhood.
