Summary

This study looked at whether giving a carbohydrate-rich drink before abdominal surgery helps diabetic and non-diabetic patients recover better. Traditionally, patients fast before surgery, which can stress the body and slow recovery. 120 adults were split into three groups to test safety and benefits, including stomach emptying, blood sugar control, and recovery speed.
