Protein vs. carbs: which Pre-Workout drink keeps you cooler in the heat?
NCT ID NCT07646990
First seen Jun 24, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study looks at whether drinking a high-protein or high-carbohydrate shake before exercising in the heat changes how your body produces heat and handles temperature. Sixteen healthy adults will walk on a treadmill in a hot room after drinking one of two shakes. Researchers will measure metabolism, core temperature, and kidney stress markers to see which drink is better for staying cool.
