First seen Nov 17, 2025 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 24 times
Summary
This study looks at whether a quick bout of physical exercise before a lesson can improve children's ability to concentrate and ignore distractions. About 240 primary school students will be randomly assigned by class to either sit quietly, do a mentally active task, or exercise for 5 or 10 minutes before class. Researchers will measure their inhibitory control using computer tasks to see if exercise gives a mental edge.
