First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 12, 2026 · Updated 25 times

Summary

This study tests whether a 7-day course of three antibiotics (ceftriaxone, clarithromycin, metronidazole) can help pregnant people with preterm premature rupture of membranes (PPROM) before 34 weeks stay pregnant longer and have healthier outcomes compared to the current standard antibiotics. About 56 hospitalized participants will be randomly assigned to one of the two antibiotic regimens. The goal is to reduce infections and complications for both the mother and baby.
