Summary
This study tests whether using a device that measures blood flow to the skin (called the peripheral perfusion index) can help doctors give fluids more precisely to elderly ICU patients with sepsis or shock. The goal is to prevent acute skin failure, a serious condition where the skin breaks down. About 216 patients aged 65 and older will be randomly assigned to either standard care or care guided by this device.
