First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 07, 2026 · Updated 19 times
Summary
This study is testing a device that uses a blood or saliva sample to predict if a pregnant woman will develop postpartum depression (PPD) after giving birth. Researchers will enroll 1,000 pregnant women and collect samples during the third trimester, then follow up for three months after delivery to see who develops PPD. The goal is to see how accurate the test is and whether saliva works as well as blood, which could make at-home testing easier.
