First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 24 times

Summary

This study tested whether a special exercise program focused on muscle power (moving quickly) could reduce bradykinesia (slowness of movement) in people with Parkinson's disease. Twenty-two adults with rigid-akinetic Parkinson's, aged 50-85, did either traditional exercises or power-based exercises twice a week for 12 weeks. The goal was to see if power training improves movement speed and daily function better than standard therapy.
