NCT ID NCT07293429

First seen Jun 24, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study tests whether combining posture correction exercises with breathing muscle training can reduce shortness of breath and improve lung function in people with COPD who also have forward head posture. 72 participants will be split into three groups, each doing different breathing exercises for 8 weeks. Researchers will measure changes in breathing difficulty, chest expansion, and lung function.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance
resistive inspiratory/expiratory muscle training device and posture correction exercises
What this could lead to
If it works, this could point toward a simple, drug-free way to help COPD patients breathe easier and improve their posture.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early-stage trial with only 72 participants, so results may not apply to everyone. The exercises require consistent effort, and benefits may be modest or not last long-term.
