New test aims to save mothers from dangerous Post-Birth bleeding

NCT ID NCT05127642

Summary

This study tested a bedside device called Sonoclot to see if it could quickly assess blood clotting in women experiencing severe bleeding after delivery (postpartum hemorrhage). The goal was to see if this faster information could help doctors make better treatment decisions during this critical emergency. Researchers enrolled 90 women who had major bleeding within 24 hours of giving birth.
