Could a simple test predict postpartum depression before it starts?

NCT ID NCT07186309

Summary

This study is testing a new device called 'Enlighten' that aims to predict a woman's risk of developing postpartum depression (PPD) before she gives birth. Researchers will enroll 1,000 pregnant women to see if analyzing biomarkers in blood or saliva samples collected at home can accurately forecast who will develop PPD within three months after delivery. The goal is to create a reliable early warning system that could help connect at-risk mothers with support sooner.
