New study aims to save new Moms' lives with Year-Long care
NCT ID NCT06615076
First seen Apr 02, 2026 · Last updated Jun 11, 2026 · Updated 10 times
Summary
This study tests whether having obstetric providers manage care for a full year after childbirth can improve blood pressure and blood sugar control in mothers with high blood pressure or diabetes. About 100 pregnant women with these conditions and Medicaid insurance will receive extended follow-up instead of the usual single six-week visit. The goal is to reduce serious health risks during the critical first postpartum year.
