First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study looked at how patients view the routine pain checks they receive after planned surgery. Researchers surveyed and interviewed 312 adults to understand whether these checks feel supportive or stressful, and how that affects trust in nurses and willingness to report pain. No new treatments were tested—the goal was simply to learn from patients' experiences.
