NCT ID NCT03124303

First seen Dec 16, 2025 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026 · Updated 18 times

Summary

This study looks at how brain activity before major surgery relates to the risk of postoperative delirium—a state of confusion that can occur after surgery. Researchers will monitor 468 older adults (age 60 or older) using EEG and blood tests. The goal is to better understand why some people develop delirium, not to test a new treatment.
