Summary
This study looked at over 6,000 older adults having surgery to see if postoperative delirium (sudden confusion after surgery) makes frailty worse and raises the risk of death within a year. Researchers measured frailty before and one month after surgery, then checked survival at one year. The goal was to understand how these factors interact, not to test a new treatment.
