New study tests group support to lower blood pressure after stroke

NCT ID NCT07091851

First seen Sep 30, 2025 · Last updated May 29, 2026 · Updated 31 times

Summary

This study compares two ways to manage high blood pressure after a stroke: home blood pressure monitoring alone versus home monitoring plus group medical visits. High blood pressure is the top cause of a second stroke, so the goal is to find the best way to keep blood pressure under control. The study will enroll 50 adults who recently had a mild to moderate stroke and have high blood pressure. Participants will be followed for several months to see which approach works better.
