Could a second round of chemo after liver surgery keep cancer away?

NCT ID NCT06501482

First seen Feb 04, 2026 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 10 times

Summary

This study looks at people with colorectal cancer that spread to the liver, who had surgery to remove up to 10 liver tumors after responding well to a specific chemotherapy (FOLFIRI). The goal is to see if restarting that same chemotherapy after surgery helps prevent the cancer from coming back longer than just watching and waiting. About 254 participants will be randomly assigned to either receive the extra chemo or no further treatment, and researchers will track cancer recurrence over 3 years.
