Summary

This study tested a new portable device called MARIE that measures carbon dioxide (CO2) in the breath of 40 adults after surgery. The goal was to see if MARIE works as well as standard hospital monitors for detecting breathing problems early. Researchers compared MARIE's readings with those from routine equipment and blood tests.
