This study tested whether taking pomegranate seed oil for 24 weeks could help people with advanced dementia avoid urinary tract infections and pneumonia, and possibly reduce or stop antipsychotic medications. The study included 18 older adults in palliative care. Researchers compared the oil to usual care to see if it improved quality of life.
