Summary
This study aimed to see if a common virus (BK polyomavirus) is found more often in the thyroid tissue of people with goiter, Graves' disease, or Hashimoto's thyroiditis. Researchers planned to compare virus presence in 49 adults having thyroid surgery. The study was stopped early, so results are limited.
