Emergency breathing tubes linked to higher infection risk?

NCT ID NCT07439146

Summary

This study aims to understand if patients who need an emergency breathing tube are more likely to develop pneumonia compared to those who get one in a planned, non-emergency setting. Researchers will review the medical records of 600 adults who were intubated and stayed in intensive care during 2024. The goal is to gather information to help improve future care, not to test a new treatment.
