Summary
This study aims to understand which specific types of pneumonia-causing bacteria are most common in hospitalized patients in Hong Kong. Researchers will test 1,800 adults admitted to the hospital with community-acquired pneumonia using a simple urine test kit. The goal is to gather information that could help improve future pneumonia vaccines and treatments by identifying the most prevalent bacterial strains.
