Lymphoma patients: which pneumonia shot works best?

NCT ID NCT04460235

First seen Jun 02, 2026 · Last updated Jun 16, 2026 · Updated 5 times

Summary

This study compares two pneumococcal vaccination strategies in 160 adults with lymphoma (a type of blood cancer). One group gets two vaccines (PCV13 then PPV23), the other gets a single newer vaccine (PREVENAR20). The goal is to see which approach triggers a stronger immune response, since chemotherapy can weaken the immune system. Results will help guide future vaccination recommendations for these patients.
