Simple muscle relaxation technique shows promise for thyroid cancer pain
NCT ID NCT07623005
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study tested whether a simple relaxation exercise, called progressive muscle relaxation (PMR), could help reduce pain and improve quality of life in people with thyroid cancer. Thirty-two patients undergoing chemotherapy were randomly assigned to do either PMR plus gentle stretching or just stretching alone for 4-5 days. The researchers measured pain and quality of life before and after the short program to see if the relaxation technique made a difference.
