Jumping higher might make you throw harder: study tests Leg-to-Arm strength transfer
NCT ID NCT07339436
First seen Jan 15, 2026 · Last updated Apr 24, 2026 · Updated 17 times
Summary
This study tested whether leg-focused jump training can also improve upper body strength in 50 male basketball players aged 16-18. Over 8 weeks, one group did combined leg and arm plyometric exercises, another did only arm exercises, and a third did no special training. Researchers measured muscle size, hormone levels, and performance in throws and jumps to understand how strength transfers between the lower and upper body.
