New hope for ALS: trial tests drug to slow devastating disease

Summary
This study is testing a new drug called PLL001 for people recently diagnosed with ALS (Lou Gehrig's disease). The main goal is to see if daily injections can safely slow down the loss of physical function and improve survival. About 153 participants will receive either the real drug or a placebo for 24 weeks, with an option to continue on the drug for another 24 weeks.
