Massive study asks: do cancer screenings actually save lives?
NCT ID NCT00339495
Summary
This large, long-term study aims to find out if regular screening for prostate, lung, colorectal, and ovarian cancers helps people live longer. It enrolled about 154,900 men and women aged 55 to 74, randomly assigning half to receive screening tests and half to receive their usual medical care. Researchers are comparing cancer rates and deaths between the two groups to see if screening makes a difference.
