Could a simple blood test better track IBD flares?

NCT ID NCT07320443

Summary

This study aims to see if measurements of blood platelets, which are easy to get from a standard blood test, can help doctors understand how active a patient's inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) is. Researchers will enroll 84 adults with Crohn's disease or ulcerative colitis to check if platelet levels correlate with standard disease activity scores and other inflammation markers. The goal is to find a simple, low-cost way to help monitor these chronic gut conditions.
