Summary
This study aims to understand why patients on ECMO life support machines often have serious bleeding or clotting problems. Researchers will closely track changes in different types of blood platelets in 75 adults with heart or lung failure during their first week on ECMO. The goal is to gather knowledge that could one day help predict and prevent these dangerous complications.
