Could your own blood ease a painful skin condition?
NCT ID NCT04967170
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 23 times
Summary
This study tests whether a treatment made from a patient's own blood, called platelet-rich plasma, is safe and can help reduce symptoms of vulvar lichen sclerosus, a chronic skin condition that causes itching, pain, and discomfort. About 30 women will receive either the plasma treatment or a placebo to compare results. The goal is to see if this approach can ease symptoms without long-term medication.
