Laser may offer new hope for women with chronic vulvar condition
NCT ID NCT07240519
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study tests whether a fractional CO2 laser can reduce inflammation and symptoms like itching and pain in vulvar lichen sclerosus, a chronic skin condition. Forty women who have not been treated before will receive either standard clobetasol ointment or three laser sessions. Researchers will compare skin biopsies and symptom scores to see if laser is a good alternative to long-term steroid use.
