Blood clue to brain bleed: platelet activity may signal aneurysm rupture risk
NCT ID NCT03408379
First seen Jan 25, 2026 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 15 times
Summary
This study looks at whether blood platelets (cells that help blood clot) are more active in people whose brain aneurysms have burst compared to those with unruptured aneurysms. Researchers will measure platelet activation in 230 adults scheduled for aneurysm treatment. The goal is to find a new way to predict rupture risk, which currently relies mostly on aneurysm size and location.
