New ultrasound spots metal in brain after aneurysm clipping

NCT ID NCT07583225

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study tests a new type of ultrasound that can see through the skull to find tiny metal pieces left after brain aneurysm surgery. About 78 adults who had aneurysm clipping will get this ultrasound within 3 hours after surgery, along with a standard CT scan. The goal is to see if the ultrasound can reliably detect metal fragments early, which could help doctors act faster without extra radiation.
