First seen Jan 06, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 28 times

Summary

This study tests whether using a standard amount of plasma exchange works as well as a high amount in children with acute liver failure. The goal is to help the liver recover on its own and avoid the need for a transplant. About 40 children aged 3 to 18 will be randomly assigned to one of the two treatments, and doctors will track survival and recovery over 21 days.
