Scientists test limits: how often can you safely donate plasma?

NCT ID NCT05179200

Summary

This study aimed to find out if donating plasma very frequently is safe for healthy male donors. Researchers compared 120 men split into three groups: one donating plasma three times every two weeks, one donating every two weeks, and one donating regular blood every three months. They checked the donors' blood protein levels, signs of inflammation, and stress over 16 weeks to see if the most frequent schedule caused any health problems.
