Can a month of plants change the course of blood cancer?

NCT ID NCT07487428

Summary

This study is testing whether switching to a strict whole-food, plant-based diet for four weeks can affect the immune system and slow down early-stage chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL), a type of blood cancer. Researchers will enroll 50 people with early CLL who are not yet on treatment and measure changes in their blood cells, metabolism, and gut bacteria. The goal is to see if this dietary change can influence the disease's activity and provide clues for future management strategies.
