New hospital discharge plan aims to curb opioid dependence after accidents

NCT ID NCT06055205

Summary

This study is testing a special discharge plan to help patients who were injured and given opioid painkillers. The plan includes a medication schedule, a follow-up doctor's appointment, and better communication between hospital and family doctors. Researchers want to see if this coordinated approach helps people use fewer opioids and feel better in the weeks and months after leaving the hospital.
