Blood test could predict which babies struggle during birth

NCT ID NCT07258329

Summary

This study aims to see if specific markers measured from the placenta in a pregnant person's blood can help identify babies who might be at risk of distress during labor. Researchers will enroll about 428 pregnant participants to check if these markers are linked to signs of fetal compromise seen on heart rate monitors. The goal is to find a better way to screen for babies who may need closer monitoring or a different delivery approach to ensure their safety.
