Heart study: is a procedure better than pills alone for clogged arteries?

NCT ID NCT07577518

First seen May 14, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study looks at whether opening blocked heart arteries with a procedure (PCI) plus medications is better than medications alone for people with chronic coronary syndrome. About 2,300 adults aged 40 and older with confirmed blockages will be randomly assigned to one of the two groups. A smaller part of the study also compares two forms of a beta-blocker drug (carvedilol) for symptom relief.
