Brain-Healing drug could help break cocaine addiction cycle

NCT ID NCT04843046

Summary

This study is testing if adding the medication pioglitazone to standard talk therapy (CBT) can better help people stay off cocaine after they've recently quit. Researchers want to see if the drug can help repair brain damage from cocaine use, which might make the therapy more effective. The study will involve 60 adults who have recently completed a short detox program.
