Heart plaque imaging may predict angioplasty success
NCT ID NCT07390994
First seen Feb 05, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 14 times
Summary
This study looks at 600 people with coronary artery disease to see if the type of plaque (fatty, scarred, or calcified) seen on a special imaging test called OCT before balloon angioplasty can predict future heart problems. The goal is to understand if knowing the plaque type helps doctors choose the best treatment. Participants will be followed for up to 5 years to track any repeat procedures or heart events.
