Breathing breakthrough? new therapy aims to keep ICU patients off ventilators

NCT ID NCT05423301

Summary

This study tests whether a special physiotherapy program can help prevent breathing failure in ICU patients after their breathing tube is removed. It compares this combined breathing and movement therapy to standard care in 256 high-risk patients. The goal is to see if this approach reduces the need to put the breathing tube back in within the first week.
